To lede

A reader of Andrew Sullivan's blog writes:

"CNN decided to lede with the health care debate, showing Obama addressing
the AMA today"

I've seen the spelling "lede" used by journalists as a noun meaning the
primary story, but I've never seen it used as a verb before.
