"Timeline of entries in the OED"

If I understand the "Timeline of entries in the OED" in the Nov. 2010
version, it displays quite clearly the OED's bias against the 18th
century!  Of course, since centenary years between 1000 and 2000 are
not marked on the scale, I have to hover over each decade.  (The
minimum appears to be 1740-1750.)  And the yellow is hard to discern
against a white background.

(I mean the Timeline I see when I'm at "Quick search results", and
"View as: Timeline".)
