Jonathan, I suspect that saying "Merry Holidays" to a group that includes Christians could be regarded as an act of violence. Especially on Xmas Day! After all, as everybody knows, a war on Christmas is being waged.

"Radical defiance"? "Unthinkable spiritual liberty"? A little semantic
clarity would be useful. The context helps not at all.

Director of the Einstein Forum.
