Listserve postings "empty of content"

FWIW, I can relate to the various pleas for more scholarship and less
bullshxt. But is a listserv really to be made to operate according the
rules of a seminar? I've long been annoyed at seeing what I know to be
bullshit appearing in print as scholarship. But here, I - not to
mention everyone else - get to vent, instead of spending the night tossing
and turning, while asking myself the unanswerable question, "How in
hell did that bastard manage to get that obviously made-up crap published?!"
And I get to post bullshxt of my own devise!
Not to mention that, ofttimes, I come to realize it's *I* who's full of shxt.
Not possible, were a listserv reserved only for posts that reflected
true scholarship, with citations and references, and did not permit
the posting of one's idle thoughts that might, nevertheless, lead to
someone else's Aha! moment.
Otherwise, why not confine one's reading to academic books and learned
journals?
