Although the New England Historic Genealogical Society's gateway to
America's Historical Newspapers lists African-American
newspapers  (the page one gets to is a Readex page), apparently
members do *not* have access.  Readex asks for a user name and
password.  I have inquired of the NEHGS, and await a reply.

Harvard's libraries apparently have subscribed.  I could supplement
Fred's offer to search African-American newspapers (intermittently;
for access I would have to go to one of their libraries, which I do
intermittently).
