Another abbreviated "quietus": Farmer & Henley: <<*QUI*. TO GET THE QUI,
_verb. phr._ (printers'). -- To be dismissed; to get a _quietus_.>>

I note that "quietus" means/meant "knockout" in boxing: one can find a
number of instances of "quietus blow", "quietus punch", etc. .... I see
no "qui[etus] bash" so far.

There is also this: from G-books: _London Medical Dictionary_ (1809):
<<CIBUS, from the Hebrew term _kibash_, _food_, or _nourishment_.>> (^_^)
