The University of Georgia's athletic director was arrested (under tabloidesquely scandalous circumstances) near midnight on June 30.  On July 3 he resigned.  The campus newspaper appears weekly in the summer; it was therefore several days late in its reportage.

So, yesterday's headline read, "Former AD's arrest shocks Bulldog Nation."  But the individual was not the FORMER athletic director when he was arrested--or when the designated nation became shocked!
