I'm not convinced that there's a version of ProQuest out there that
comprehensively covers the Globe from 1872 to 1979. My impression is
that they just haven't finished digitizing the 1928-1958 gap yet. A
few years ago the gap was larger, from 1923 to 1980:

But maybe I'm just missing out on the super-deluxe ProQuest
subscription that has everything.
