...although clearly not new words as such:

(1) from tonight's national news:  the crews working out in the Gulf
are berthed overnight in barracks on "floatels" or "flotels".  Many
thousands of g-hits for both spellings of the portmanteau, evidently
used in more pleasant contexts as well

(2) from a piece in today's Times
(http://www.nytimes.com/2010/06/01/us/01slapp.html), I learned that
to slapp someone is to intimidate someone by hitting them with a
"Slapp", a Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation.  The
article recounts stories of people "getting Slapped".
