Leapin' Lizards!

I apologize for the multiple messages.

Here is a possible strategy: In 2008 a collection was released called
Complete Little Orphan Annie Volume 1; published by Idea & Design
Works Llc. Volume 1 contains "first strip in August 1924 through
October 1927". So looking through it would yield the first strip with
"leapin lizards" (November 2 or earlier). Amazon look inside shows at
least one page that is dated. If all the strips are dated then you
have your answer. If strips are undated then you can still generate an
excellent estimate and then maybe verify at Boston Univ or with
microfilm of the New York Daily News.

Here's another challenge: Can anyone find any information as to what was the exact date of the first appearance of the exclamation "Leapin' Lizards!" in the Little Orphan Annie comic strip?
