He reads it all. But nothing registers that contradicts the fantasy that underlies his obsession: Guns don't kill people, phonemic mergers kill people. The only reason for not ignoring him completely is that there are naïve people who pass through ADS-L who might find his dementia plausible.

Um, I hate to tell you this, Tom, but it's been around for rather some time,
and is deeply rooted in the systemic phonetics of a variety of Englishes.

As has been pointed out several times on this thread.

It sometimes helps to read what has gone before.

You should try it some time.
