"out of tribal experience"

A friend related what she called an "out of tribal experience" the
other day. She is a member at an exercise salon in her home
town. When she used the "travel" privileges at a branch in another
town she felt shunned. But when she switched her membership to that
salon, she felt welcomed. (So far this applies only to the
management; she hasn't had sufficient encounters within the tribe to
report reactions of other salon users.)

I thought it was a clever invention. There appear to be no instances
on Google, although there is a "Tribal Experience" tour company
(www.thetribalexperience.com).
