Knight-Thompson Speechwork

Dear fellow ADS members,

            I'm pleased to announce that Professor Phil Thompson of UC
Irvine and I will be teaching two six-day speech workshops this August at
Chelsea Studio in New York. The first, from August 15th through the 21st,
will be our introduction to Knight-Thompson Speechwork. In this workshop-in
addition to learning flexible articulation skills for all languages and
accents without the burden of an imposed "good speech" pattern-participants
will receive the complete manuscript of my textbook on speech training, a
book that has gone through a nearly interminable gestation. The second
workshop, a new one for us, will be held immediately after the first, from
August 22nd through the 28th. We will be carrying the Speechwork approach
into dialect acquisition methodology for actors, linguists and other
language specialists. Anyone may enroll in this dialect workshop who has
previously taken the introductory one, including persons who might wish to
take both of them in sequence this summer.

second one. For each workshop the discounted fee for ADS and VASTA members
