2009 Sam Stagg _Born to be Hurt_  [N.Y.: St. Martin's Press] 101: Since
nothing in Sirk is accidental, I'm convinced that somehow he intended to
desconstruct her evil masterpiece [_Triumph of the Will_].
Stagg is referring to director Douglas Sirk's use of images reminiscent of
some of those in Leni Riefenstahl's _T of the R_ but in an anti-Nazi movie,
_Hitler's Madman_ (1943).
