I would use the "ah" pronunciation also. And without any notion that it
is faithful to a Danish pronunciation.

Of course I would not be so pretentious or faux-whatever as to fault
somebody else for using the "ay" pronunciation.

MW3 shows both, so I think before one starts bitching about either he
should have some strong evidence handy.
