"egg cream", 1841 -- same year, different recipe

I have noticed a different 1841 recipe for egg creams than given in
the OED's earliest citation, 1841. The Pittsfield [Mass.] Sun, 1841
Nov. 25, page 4. [EAN]

It "will form a mixture sufficient to serve three people to mix with
their tea." Not how I consume egg creams today.

"The oil of cinnamon is cordial and tonic. [Did make the oil with
alcohol?] The [recipe] has been recommended in diseases of the lungs
... also in fits of hectic fever towards the evening, and night
perspiration." The Sun is just in time not just for celebrators but
also for homemakers suffering from the stresses of the holiday season.
