fact = proposition, nonfact

The tendency to use "fact" in place of "idea, notion, claim, proposition,
assertion, etc." which I reported on years ago to a disbelieving
world, reaches ever more idiot heights.

CNN reports that "Some Republicans wish it would all go away - all this talk
about the fact that the President was not born in the United States."
