An interesting article appeared in the OxfordWords blog recently.

According to the _Daily Mail_
(http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2053670/Cripes-Traditional-British-words-face-extinction-text-speak-norm.html) ,
a survey carried out for a book tie-in to the BBC2 TV programme _Planet
Word_ (http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b015h1xb) showed that nearly 75% of
the 2,000 people polled believed that ‘longer words have become outdated
since text messages and social networking websites gained popularity.’
