Barry asked me to forward the message below to ads-l and ans-l. Happy to oblige. (I hope this message goes through; I've been having trouble reaching ads-l lately).
I join him in wishing everyone a happy new year.

Subject: What do you call a person in Texas from...?
Happy new year. As you know, I'm undergoing Remicade treatment o my
Crohn's disease.
...
For the end of the year, I've been working on historical citations for
Texas demonyms ("What do you call a person in Texas from...?") to add
to my "Lone Star State Dictionary." New online material added to The
Portal to Texas History makes this an opportune time to do this
research.
...
Please forward this to the American Name Society listserv, ANS-L, and
I'll work on any suggestions they have...There is some dispute about
the "Leander" behind the city name of Leander. There are two Leanders!
There's also a slang name of "Leanderthal"...I live near Round Rock and
I'm still working on "Round Rocker"...The Palestine, Texas name needs
more citational evidence for or against "Palestinian."
...
Wikipedia entries are extremely poor on demonyms. A very few have it
listed in the information box at the right-hand side of the city's page
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dallas), but on most entries it's simply
not given what a person from that city is called. I'm not allowed to
link my own work--I've had Wikipedia arguments over this--but others
can add these demonyms to improve Wikipedia if they want.
...
Again, happy new year to all.
