Heard it on Regis and Kelly today.  They showed pictures of piles of snirt in NYC.  It's a mixture of snow and dirt resulting from putting dirt on snow for traction on the streets then plowed into piles.  So much for walking in a winter wonderland.  "In the lane, snirt is glistening..."
