whole nine yards

Stephen Goranson had noted:

<<The later 1962 writer, Gale F. Linster (about whom perhaps Bonnie
Taylor-Blake may tell us more), wrote a letter about auto "extra cost
equipment" (e.g., automatic transmission) as "all nine yards of goodies.">>

Stephen had asked me about this last week and I'm sorry that I hadn't got
back to him sooner. I'm happy to share what I had learned (which is, sadly,
not much of nothing).

In the fall of 2007, soon after I found that 1962 sighting in *Car Life*, I
wrote to two people I felt might be able to provide some contact information
for Mr. Linster. One was a former business associate; the other I figured
to be a male relative (a son or a nephew). Unfortunately, I received no
replies to my polite emails asking for a bit of help in tracking down Mr.
Linster (these messages also explained why I was inquiring). I was a little
perplexed and obviously disappointed, so I set this aside.

I now see that contact information for Mr. Linster may be more readily
available. I'll give it another try.
