President Obama referrred this morning to "the out years" despite the fact
that OED has no idea what he's talking about.
This site seems to: http://www.expertglossary.com/definition/out-years
The President also used the popular phrase "My way or the highway,"
which seems to appear earliest in the late Gil Scott-Heron in his 1972
novel, _The Nigger Factory_.
I didn't encounter the phrase in speech till the mid '80s.
Finally, feel free to employ - as appropriate - my own offerings, "Your way
or the doorway" and "Their way or the stairway."
