According to a movie that's currently on as background sound, there
has been an embarrassing misunderstanding between the Canadian and the
American branches of a supermarket company.

Apparently, in Canada, one _cracks_ the cheese. Hence, when it was
sarcastically noted in a letter of "recommendation" that a certain
employee was "an expert at _cutting_ the cheese," the eye of the
Canadian branch-manager was caught only by "expert" and he
accidentally hired a guy that the American branch had been trying to
get rid of.

Or something like that.
