The word "interferant" has both a chemical meaning ("Something that interferes with the proper function of a chemical analysis") and a legal meaning ("A party to an interference proceeding in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office"). It gets about 64,000 hits on Google, and Lexis-Nexis retrieves legal usages back to 1899. I don't see the word in OED.
