Hmmm.  I'm pretty sure I've never heard it pronounced that way.  I've
only ever heard it with main stress on the second syllable.

"see" for me, but I've heard "shee" as well, at least for the verb
and participle.  Less likely for the noun, given the (other) [S];
[@soSieS at n] is a bit of a tongue twister.
