IME, American gypsies don't look like "regular" white people. E.g.
gypsies have come on to me as "Chicanos" in California and as
"Wampanoags" in Massachusetts. According to a feature article in the
Boston Globe, local gypsies are Catholics (who knew that gypsies
practiced any religion except their own?) and virulently anti-black
(so, what else is new?). However, judging by every source that I've
come across, from NatGeo to British movies, Travellers display the
same phenotype as other Irish people. Is there an at-a-casual-glance
difference that the non-Traveller Irish learn to recognize?
