southwestern connecticut

Hi all,

CK Thomas writing in the 1940s claimed that New York City English features  have diffused into southwestern Connecticut.  I've been looking for any more recent research on this area for some work on the dialect geography of NYCE, but I haven't located anything. Is anyone aware of work on this issue.
