The first edition of NOAD does not have JIHADIST or JIHADIST at all. There is no usage note or labeling, but an "informal" (metaphorical) definition reads " a single- minded or obsessive campaign," with the illustrative sentence, "the quest for greater sales became a jihad."
Does the free third edition online have ANY usage notes, or do you have to pay extra ( or buy the paper copy)?
