Fear of tomatoes? [It honestly never occurred to me until now that
"pomodoro"--which was also adopted into Russian as [pomidor]--is "pomo
d'oro".]

Or fear of fruit? [Note: pomology, pomonic, pomonal--and, of course,
Pomona!]
