an accidental contruction?

My 8-year-old grandson shared with me some newly-acquired information of his:  "Charlie, did you know that before you were born, you were just a single monocule?"

Is it possible that he, even subconsciously, echoed the concept 'single' in the (seeming) prefix "mono-"?  I doubt it.  I suspect it's just a happy mistake--a mishearing or mispronunciation.

(A word "monocule" does exist, though I was never what the word designates.)
