US/UK difference: seen and not ...

Somewhat off topic.



When I was 4 or 5, as my father told it to me, I was quite talkative in a
restaurant.  Two elderly women said quite loudly from the next booth that
"people with children out to stay home."  To which my father immediately
responded "people who don't like children ought not to go out."
