I don't want to sound petty and, normally, I read through HTML or clip
it and convert it, but with nested quotations it's too much even for me.
It seems to be an issue with settings for mobile version of Verizon
webmail. Most stand-alone mail clients have a setting for converting
mail sent to a list of names or domains to text. I have not found a
similar setting in webmail clients. The only options seem to be all-text
or all-HTML. There is not even an adaptive-response trigger (one that
responds with text to text and with rich to rich).
