When you say "ancestry.com" are you referring to the NewsBank Ancestry GenealogyBank Historical Newspapers accessible through Mid-Continent Public Library?  If so, the anser is "no, they are not the same."

Prime example---Cleveland Plain Dealer and New Orleans Times Picayune.
