I'm familiar with him and his fairy-godfather, Mr. O'Malley, only in
its print form. So, I had to read it for myself. Having not yet come
across the name, _Barnaby_, in the wild - and I wouldn't, for another
dekkid - I was under the impression that it was pronounced
"barNAYbee."

At the time, I lived in an Irish parish. So, Mr. O'Malley's name was
already familiar to me.
