Of course, a.k.a. "German Southwest Africa".  How could I have forgotten?  I don't remember what color that was on my old maps, when "French West Africa" and "French Equatorial Africa" were green and all the British colonies (including Canada and Australia, if dim memory serves, as well as British East Africa) were of course pink, to match the colonialists' faces…
