"Here Comes Honey Boo-Boo!" (UNCLASSIFIED)

The distinction observed by some, but by no means all, is that a translator
works with documents; an interpreter works with speech.
Although, it's almost always "simultaneous translation" (with no
interruption in the original speech) or "consecutive translation" (where the
speaker pauses to allow the interpreter to translate), rather than
"interpretation."
Interpretation is a much more difficult skill, and simultaneous translation
is the most difficult of all. Very few can do it well.

I plead ignorance -- what is the difference between translator and
interpreter?
