That's how Winston Churchill allegedly characterized the American Civil
War. Some smart guys predictably say "among" instead of "between," and a
few people seem to say "by."
I can't find any evidence, beyond the bald assertion, that Churchill ever
said anything of the sort. Why would he? He was no dope.
GB takes the quote back to 1955.
