This I remember from Saint Louis, but we didn't have a word for it.
Ice-storms and sleet-storms also provided surfaces for this.
There was never enough snow for this in Marshall, where two inches was
the equivalent of a northeaster. I first heard of the legendary "Texas
blue norther" in an episode of "Sky King" that I heard on the radio in
StL.
