Don?t call it Creamora (R). While on the topic of toponymic curiosities,
just a stone?s throw from the old homestead was the old mining town of
Crimora VA. It must be added to your list of liquid dissimilatory
deletions. The locals pronounce it [come.MORE.uh] (rhymes with Gomorrah).
Stumped on the etymology. (I recall driving by the town sign years ago and
saying, <<[kree.MORE.uh]?!? Who wants to live in coffee creamer?>> And then
my sister told me . . . the rest of the story.)
