The new definition of "gift"

"Gift" means:

* Forgiveness of college loan interest.
* Free contraceptives for young, college-aged women.
* Health care on their parents' policies for children 26 and younger.
* Targeting policy towards young voters, African Americans, and Hispanics.

"Gift" does not mean:

* Lowering tax rates on the wealthiest percentile of Americans.
* Ending the estate tax and gift tax.
* Keeping tax rates on capital gains lower than income tax rates.
* Preserving the ability of hedge fund managers to convert income
into lower-taxed capital gains.
* Targeting policy towards older, white Americans.

Do we see a trend, however?  Hostess Brands, in the midst of a
strike, is threatening its employees with going into bankruptcy if
they do not return to work by tomorrow (Friday).  The end of
Wonderbread, the American white bread?  (Perhaps deservedly, in a
more gender-bias-conscious age -- it's sold in Mexico by the
international baking company Grupo Bimbo.)
