guest = 'customer'

A Target official is on CNN repeatedly using the word "guest" where normal
people (like the interviewer) would say "customer." Target, he says, is
dedicated to "delivering a quality guest experience," which means selling
stuff to customers in an environment more pleasant than that of a
post-apocalyptic rummage sale.
I've seen this Orwellian use of "guest" elsewhere, and frequently, over the
past few years - maybe two, maybe ten, I can't say.
