Sometimes, that pesky, underlying native tongue just gets in the way!

As it happens, I've also noticed the opposite. At the Language School,
sometimes _studenty_ would, when speaking and without noticing it,
fail to translate random Russian words or phrases into English,
presumably because those strings had been fully internalized.
