We got the internet and computers and function keys that can bring up special symbols.  So do you think USA schools are all excited about using the IPA or its supposed upgrade, SAMPA.  Nope.  So I offer the better alternative.  See a comparison.  http://www.screenr.com/cbn8   Imagine folks easily being able to "write" in phonetics.  Now that's learning phonemes.
