Drugs don't work in patients who don't take them.


In an article in the October 2012 issue of the Journal of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics, Martin T. Stein M.D. attributes the above statement to C. Everett Koop M.D., one time Secretary General of the United States.


It seems to me that I heard that adage long before Dr. Koop's tenure as Surgeon General. Can any of my esteemed listmates tell me when it was first uttered.
