Speaking of hats, "hat-tipping" is listed as a compound under hat n.
with no definition. "Hat-tip" is given a definition, but not one one
would have expected today:

> hat-tip n. the circular piece of stuff used to line the crown of a hat.

Where's the blogging sense of "hat tip"--the one often designated by "h/t"?
