OK, it's been a few hours, but my memory is that Banks uttered "it won't go noticed" in exactly the circumstances in which I would use "it will go unnoticed that…", i.e. that it's easy to ignore the contributions of a relatively obscure player whose unsung exploits helped get the team going on the right foot (if that's enough cliches for a single sentence).  That is, it will go unnoticed although it shouldn't.
