"Jo Medill has resumed his old slang about Major Wood. When Jo will get some respectable individuals known in town and who also know him, to certify that they would believe him under oath, we will notice some of his daily slanders, and not till then....We are getting Know Nothingish. These lying, flannel-mouthed Irishmen like Jo Medill we never did like."
