Well, if it's true that he's lost the power of speech as the consequence of
a bullet-wound in his throat, we may never know.
I assume that his classmate's pronunciation is founded on the pronunciation
that he himself used, making it, IMO, good enough for government work and
superior to the random pronunciations based on a strict, letter-for-letter
transliteration from Russo-Cyrillic by people confused by the fact that
Russian has to use two letters to spell the sound denoted by the single
Anglo-Roman letter J, as English has to use two letters, TS, to spell the
sound denoted by the single Russo-Cyrillic letter Ц.
