Somewhat related is the cell phone lot, variously called the cell phone parking lot and cell phone waiting lot, that Sea-Tac Airport has for people who are coming to pick up passengers so they won't circle the airport or park in loading zones. I found http://archives.californiaaviation.org/airport/msg35796.html, which is dated 2005.
