When did this start? ABC World News with Diane Sawyer has been running an occasional segment for ages (well before Boston Strong) called "America Strong", without any specific aftermath of tragedy that I can think of (it didn't go back nearly as far as 9/11, for example). It has more to do with creating jobs in the U.S., buying American, avoiding imports, etc. Well, I suppose you could claim that it's in the aftermath of the tragedy of the financial meltdown, but they don't make that explicit.
